Healthwatch Telediagnostics has launched CHC Pharmacy a combined pharmacy and clinic in Valasaravakkam, Chennai. This all-in-one health centre aims to fill the gaps in healthcare access in Chennai’s growing neighbourhoods.
Opened on April 30, this is the second CHC Pharmacy centre launched. The first one opened in West Mambalam four months ago. Both centres allow people to walk in for doctor visits, lab tests, physiotherapy and to buy medicines and daily essentials — all in one place, according to an official release.
Valasaravakkam, like many other areas on the edge of Chennai, has seen a big increase in population, but not enough healthcare facilities have come up. CHC Pharmacy centres combine pharmacy services with blood tests, doctor consultations, and even home visits for services like physiotherapy and ECG tests. The clinic isn’t a separate part — it’s fully built into the setup, so care feels more ongoing instead of just one-time visits, the release mentioned.
The founders say they started this model after noticing gaps in how the city planned its healthcare services. “We wanted to make healthcare part of everyday life in the neighborhood — simple, friendly, and easy to access,” said one team member.
Though still new, this idea matches a wider shift in urban healthcare, where smaller, local health centres are growing in popularity. Experts say such options — somewhere between big hospitals and regular medical shops — are much needed in fast-growing cities like Chennai.
