    1. What exactly is hepatitis?

    First, let’s understand exactly what hepatitis is. Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver.

    2. What causes it?

    Hepatitis can occur due to infection by viruses, toxins like alcohol and drugs, autoimmune conditions or even some medications.

    3. What are the types of hepatitis?

    Hepatitis is of various types.

    There’s A, B, C, D and E. There’s also F, but it’s very rare.

    4. How does viral hepatitis spread?

    Hepatitis viruses A and E spread through contaminated food or water.

    Hepatitis B, C and D spread through contact with the blood or any body fluid of an infected person. They can spread via shared needles or through sexual contact.

    5. What are the symptoms of hepatitis?

    Symptoms of hepatitis include:

    • Fever
    • Jaundice
    • Abdominal pain
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Loss of appetite
