Any company to succeed needs a magic four-letter word: team! It is what makes or breaks an organisation, because by very definition, an organisation is an organised system of aiming at goals and achieving them. A team is what separates a company (notice the meaning of that word again?) from a one-person show. No matter how bright and capable a person might be, a well put-together and performing team will always outdo them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But a team isn\u2019t merely for the disposal of a company. It is also what motivates each employee to show up at work every day and do their best. And this isn\u2019t only in a corporate setup. Look at any avenue of life where close cooperation between individuals is needed, and you\u2019ll notice it: the armed forces and sport, to name but two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a related note, it gives me tremendous satisfaction that we have just now announced an upward revision in the retention bonus for several bands in Salem and Chennai. Not only are we and have always been proudly above-par with our rewards and compensation, but we also find ways of rewarding discipline, dedication and consistency. We know how important our employees are to the company, so we love it when they show that they know it equally too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally I\u2019ll leave you with a story. There was once a desert that hadn\u2019t seen more than an inch of annual rain in decades. Its sand dunes were recorded to be the hottest on Earth. Nothing ever grew or thrived there. Then one day, it rained, and it poured. For hours and days. Suddenly, life started popping up everywhere. No matter how short lived it was, the place was transformed and things happened. That place was Death Valley in California. And there are three lessons in it for us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One: never declare something dead. Nothing ever is. It\u2019s only inert, waiting for an opportunity. Two: not all opportunities last; you must make the most of them while they\u2019re there. And three: Africa isn\u2019t as hot as you may think and America isn\u2019t as cool!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
